Lovers Hustle, Slide, and Dip

2019

This large public painting is a part of LAND studio’s collaboration with the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) to create a public arts program connecting public transit riders physically, socially, and culturally to their surroundings and some of the most important and difficult issues facing our society. Inspirations for the artworks are taken directly from award-winning literature of the Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards, which recognizes authors exploring ideas of social justice, diversity, and the celebration of all cultures and backgrounds. This project worked with the writings of author and poet Jericho Brown in the book, The New Testament.

Located in Cleveland, Ohio at E. 34th Street Campus Rapid Station and right next to Northeast Reintegration Center prison.

We have in common.

Who miss them still. Blues
For my people and what water
They know. O weary drinkers
